I am not going to make a deadline on a WU I have loaded because of a power failure while I was gone. How do I get rid of it?

Manually go into the FAH Folder and delte the queue.dat file, and the unitinfo.txt file and then go into the Work folder and delete everything inside of that.

When you restart the client to Fold again, it'll make all new files.

Yep that's what I did too :)

Worked like a charm.

I am going to be doing a clean install of XP on my rig, should i do the same thing before wiping the drive and installing the OS, i dont want FAH to be missing a WU b/c of me.

In your case, your best bet would be to set up the -oneunit flag and let it finish, or back up those same files, and move them over to the new install and pick up where you left off. It is bad for the science to just delete them. The WU would have nothing happening until the deadline when it would get assigned to someone else, which really slows down progress.

Copy you stuff onto a thumb drive 1st & reinstall it afterwards.

what in particular should i copy to the thumb drive, the whole program file or what?
also i am running the graphical client and i havent seen the oneunit flag in any of the menus where would that be? I have had the problem of the client not connecting to the network without me quiting the prog and then restarting it, then it will connect to the network most of the time, but in either case the screen saver shows "none" for number of WUs folded, they end up going through and being recorded by the site but what's the deal with that. I did change some network settings after the initial install.

I am unfamiliar with the graphic client.

Files to save are the "Work" folder, & queue.dat file, I also get the unitinfo.txt file for giggles.
I'm sure its all the same across the board as what's in the FAH Folder.
Save the core also. The .EXE. that way you can start it back up later.

Wow, just looked at your post again - that's why we stay away from the Graphical client. - too many problems.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Well i had been concidering a switch over to the text based client, milk those CPU cycles that are lost to creating the drawing. The FAH website said it's about 5%, and concidering how little i ever look at it it's really not needed. What are the odds that i could successfully pull those files from this copy of the client and put them into a fresh install of the text based client? It otta work i'd figure the only difference is what they do to show the folding, the data being folded is still the same.

I don't really know the GUI anymore, as I haven't used it in quite some time, but I think you just add -oneunit to the end of the target for the shortcut and start it that way. I would personally let it finish the unit it is working on now and start fresh on the new install. I don't know if the WU and core is going to be compatible with the CLI versions. Only because I haven't tried that route.
