Welcome to the Fold ;)
Here is the link
http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html
Download the one you prefer( I personally like the graphical client better, though I used the console for a long time before switching.
Also here is our Team page
http://www.overclockers.ws/
Thanks for Joining :)
Go to the main website and download the client
http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html
Configure the client. You will have to initiate the configure process, because the client won't do it automatically any longer.
If you download the graphical client then there is an option to configure it when it is placed in the taskbar. If you download the text only client then you need to start it with the -config flag.
It will ask for your name, team number(which is 32), Do you want the client to connect automatically, and are you behind a proxy.
After you answer the questions, stop the client, delete any work that it downloads into the work folder and restart the client. You will then get credit for all of the work that it does.
Then wait for it to finish 100/100 frames and uploads the work to stanford. It will then take 1 to 24 hours for your folding name to appear in the stats.

I prefer the graphical client(not screensaver only) over the text client. The only difference in speed came when I switched to the text client and dropped 3 points/day in production. Still using it for some reason. I think I'll switch back to the graphical here soon.

My name is Gandalf....you guys can call me Gandalf because I forgot to put the N in my name when I registered! :)
I am on team 32.
This is great.
My grandma had Alzheimers.
You know that graphic of a protein? Is that real time? Or is that something that's just there to show that it is working?
Welcome to the team GaNDalf ;)
I believe that the protein is real time as it changes as the proteins change. I happened to notice it while creating my avatar(which is a villin spread out over a couple of days).
I checked and there is a Gandalf listed but that person never posted anything since registering in July. Have you asked to see if you could have your name changed? Not sure if you can since someone else registered the name, but it may not hurt to ask.

What is the difference between being a member and being registered?
Being registered makes you a New Member. Members get to be members by participating in the forum and accumulating 100 posts(I think 100). Most of the people who register never post anything. Not sure why they do it but they do. Maybe they want to ask a question and decide to do a search for the answer instead of asking. Who knows.
DoH! I just realized what you were talking about. I thought that members under 100 posts were considered nwe members, but it just says registered. Anyway. Registered still means new member with less than 100 posts. There are some folks who haven't hit 100 posts who really couldn't be considered "new" members. Maybe that's why it is the way it is.

Skip is the Man and is your best bet. Not sure if he'll do it since someone else signed up under your name, but it's worth a shot. Whoever it was doesn't seem to have been active at all.

Yo Skip. Man needs help getting his name fixed. Could you give him a hand? I'll vouch for him if he buys me a cold one:D . Welcome to Folding. Remember the cream always rises to the top (hint hint).
