Over on the Abit forum, chuck4456 said,

Apparently it's the IP35 PRO minus UGURU and with a different SB.
They've got PRO pics there, however.

ya looking at the 2 its the south bridge. looks like this one does not support RAID.
it also has few USB ports and also a smaller back panel.

FWIW, uguru is crap and makes a bunch of programs like setfsb etc not work with the board, if you dont need the other missing features the lower end ip35s are the way to go.

Says it only has one 16x PCI-E slot though

hold down the motherboard PCB resembles IP35-V. Need to dig more to be sure. This could have more differences.

Yeah, that's a weird looking layout.

Possible replacement for the ip35-e?No, more like an IP35 Pro junior. But then, maybe the IP35-E is gone now? This IP35-P(?) is exactly the kind of board I look for:

passive heatpipe cooling
good overclocking
minimal hoo-ha (Firewire, 2nd X16, RAID) stuff I don't use and don't want to pay for

A high performance board doesn't have to be loaded down with all the doo-dads. Obviously - just my opinion.

To me, it seems to be just that - an IP35 Pro without extra goodies. If prices stay like they are in the link, I'll probably pick up a couple of these.

this doesn't have raid either... not a bad deal, but it does seem fairly similar to the IP35-E.

check out the deal i posted in cyber deals for the ix38 quadgt.

The big difference of this IP35 "P" and the E is the heatpipe cooling system. I don't have a heatpipe system on my Abit boards, but it is on my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4. On that board it works beautifully.

in the newegg pix of the ip35p it looks it has 2x pci-e 16x slots. maybe someone already mentioned it but perhaps newegg is displaying the wrong pix?

nvm... ya it says ip35 pro in the pix @ the egg which someone pointed out.
