guys,

have this old power supply, a few years old, antec true power 550w with remote control panel, it have the regular power strip and a 4-pin one

right now see that my new unit has 6-pin and want to see if there was a way to use the antec on an abit-e board

want to update mobo/cpu/mem and use the swap items to build another unit, thx

sam

what's an abit e board?

The 6pin should be for graphics. The 4pin on your old antec is for CPU +12v power.
You should be able to use it (would be more helpful if you provided more detailed info on the system components you intend to power with it) but given the price of even a modest PSU these days, I'd rather spend the extra bit for an updated, more efficient and better product designed to handle the loads of today's hardware.

It will work but its best to keep your power supply the most stable high quality part of your rig because if it goes the rest go.
