Well there's a sp2 update i just noticed that was out and it has a dx10 preview to lazy to try now i must sleep ! :P

Amazing finally something. Curious to how taxing it will be on the hardware.

Does FSX still run at pretty low frame rates? Last time I tried to play it I was on a 2.7ghz Opty165 with a x1800 and it ran sub 20fps at the lowest settings.

I might give it another try if it actually looks good and is playable.

it needs a newer cpu, ie c2d, like most game it will run optimally on a c2d. more efficient than everything else out there.

play it opn the rig in your sig and your set.

Yeah I tried playing it Opty when a friend got it.... good god was it slow... Told my friend good luck LOL.

man, this game is hard, the flying and taking off is a walk in the park, but those approaches and landings are a PITA...got to read in all those manuals etc.. good thing there is autopilot for if you don't want the plane to crash :p

i installed this last week. my god the graphics are a freaking JOKE. I've got all details maxed out and it looks like I'm playing an old 16 bit Super NES game.

I mean seriously...

my game looks NOTHING like these!! there's no 3d buldings all over, no forests or high res mountains or anything..

Am I missing something or are there different locations that actually have THAT much better of graphics than others?

FS is hard on CPU, vid card is not as much of a factor, also SP1 was supposed to improve multi-core support but did jack shiet, my uncle got a q6600 and a 8800GT upgraded from a e4200 and a 8800 320mb and there was little diff in performance, SP2 is supposed to do alot of improvements.

dx10 i had thought has been around for a while in the game
