Alright, I decided to install the folding client today. I had SETI running for a while for stress testing but I figured I'd do some of this distributed computing stuff in earnest. Here's what's running for the team now:
1. my computer, the one in my sig
2. bro's computer, athlon xp 1900+ but unfortunately with FIC AZ11EA POS SDR motherboard. 512mb PC133 CL2.
3. step-bro's computer, Abit KG7, athlon xp 1700+, 512mb PC2100 generic CL2
4. cheesy P233MMX laptop!
I have 2 CPUs: a 1400/266 tbird and another xp 1800+ that I need to get folding too. I figure I'll throw 'em in some POS cases with some cheap DDR motherboards and 256mb sticks of RAM for some more WUs, but this is a ways off. All of these are running the graphical client with the screen saver disabled under windows xp. Any advice on optimization? I looked at all the threads here and the stuff on the stanford site so I think I got most of it. Anyways, here's to a swift journey back to #1 for team 32!
