Adding the shipping cost makes it a little more than what is offered at newegg.com

First 4 lines (well, it was 4 lines when I copied it..) of the product description on that page:

---------
Crucial Ballistix Dual Channel 2048MB PC6400 DDR 800MHz Memory
It doesn't matter how fast a memory module is if it isn't stable and doesn't fit your system. Software crashes, choppy game play, and driver and operating system hiccups — all can be caused by bad memory modules.
---------

Ironic..

It's the same price (and same rebate promotion#) at CompUSA which is now basically owned by TigerDirect. For me at least, the shipping was only $3.75 at CompUSA so the shipping might be less if you try the link below. Also, there is a limit of two so you can get 4GB for a total of $40 AR plus shipping.

Last rebate I got from Crucial was pretty quick, about 4 weeks.

just beware got a set 2 months ago, just went dead, on RMA right now. These are single sided new version that's proven to be extremely unreliable. when I bought it, didn't research any, just looked at the price of the thing. I have another set on a server computer and is expecting to die anytime now.

I wish they'd rebrand it to something else instead of continuing with Ballistix brand name even know they are selling completely different stuff now.

this deal is nothing new. they've been in the $28-35 shipped price range (after rebates) for a while. this deal is def a decent deal, but the shipping makes it in the avg. "deal" range for these modules nowadays.

i HATE that they gave up their killer micron chips. so sad. does anyone know what they use now and how powerful the newer chips are?

I had an old set of 1066 that was the good old double sided D9's that died after I abused it too much, I RMA'd them and got the latest single sided non-D9's and they are like chalk and cheese, it used to do 1000 4-4-4-12, the new ones can barely do 900 4-4-4-12

chaulk and cheese? lol, 1st time i heard that phrase.

anyway, i have 1000 tracers and they have cold-boot issues. I can get them to work, but they will never post after a CMOS clear. I always have to throw in another stick of ram to get the machine to POST to up the voltage to ~2.0v, otherwise the tracers can't post. These are the d9gmh 1000 tracers I speak of.

I also have 4x1gb ballistix and 4x1gb tracers of the newer stuff (ddr2-800), but haven't opened them due to ppl saying the newer ones aren't d9 chips....
