So you're saying that the DVD isn't working or that windows can't recognize the drive, or what ? And with which drivers does the TV-OUT work, the new or the old ones ?

In Safe Mode, Windows doesn't load any drivers, so that's why your DVD doesn't work in Safe Mode. And when you boot up with a boot disk, it's normal to arrive at a DOS prompt with "A:\>". to go in your C drive, just type "C:".

Don't know what to say... does the drive play dvd's at all? or is it just a tv-out problem? Go to control panels and device manager to troubleshoot the drive and make sure it's drivers are installed and working. If it's just a Tv-out problem you'll have to look around for a program that removes nvidia drivers. I think I saw one on nvidia.com or maybe guru3d... detonator buster or something like that. Then try to re-install the leadtek drivers. Hope that helps you.

go into control panel, add new hardware wizard, select the drive, and click properties. What does it say?

are you still in safe mode ? I had lots of problems with my CD-ROM drives in Windows 98SE, as once, when it crashed, after a reboot, windows didn't recognize my Voodoo3, or my cd-roms. Try checking the connections of your drives, disconnect the IDE cable from the motherboard (the one connected to the CD-ROM and DVD drives), boot up, shut down again, and reconnect the drives. it helped me out once

I meant physically disconnect the drives (take out the IDE cable that connects the CD-ROM and the DVD to the mobo). Then just replug them.

EDIT : did your system crash, then Windows didn't recognize your drives, or just suddenly, after a restart, they weren't recognized ?

yeah, unplugging it from the mobo, then shutting down should help. Plug it back in, and when you restart check your bios and see if it's been detected.

shut down, unplug, then restart, then shut down again, the replug them. BTW, does your bios detect the drives right now ?

I would suggest to try the unplugging trick. Unfortunatly, when it happened to me, the only thing I had left to do was reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows.

shutdown, unplug, restart, shutdown, replug, restart, check bios. Then check device manager and try to install the drive if it still isn't working.

You could also try booting from your start-up disk and then loading windows "with cd-rom support" to see if that'll force the drive to use the cd driver from the start-up disk.
