I just put together my first SLI rig. 8800 GTS G92 in SLI with a EVGA 750i FTW.

My question is pertaining to different clocks on the 2 GPUs.

If 1 GPU is flashed to 800/2000/972, and the other is stock (factory OC) at 678/shader at whatever is linked with 678/972 will the computer even POST?

If not, I can boot with just the 800/2000/972 card and flash it back to the other one, but I have not flashed a GPU BIOS yet and Id prefer to avoid that until I at least get the whole rig setup :D

Its all set up but its also custom water cooled and I just filled the loops tonight and am still leak testing.

Thanks!

Ahhh nvm managed to find the answer rather quickly myself :)

Wikipedia is a great thing :D

"Cards from two separate retail companies will work together in SLI mode, but they must be the same GPU model (e.g. G70, G73, G80, etc). The cards may have different BIOS revisions, different default clock speeds, or even different memory sizes. However, the fastest card – or the card with more memory - will run at the speed of the slower card or disable its additional memory"
