Alrighty then, decided to get a second 8800GT for sli. I have everything set up right, because both GPU-Z and the nvidia control panel say that SLI is already enabled and every program Ive tried recognize both cards. But my 3dmark scores are exactly the same as one card and in benchmarks everest shows only 1 card heating up. Both cards are at stock clocks and I have the latest drivers.

It happens sometimes with 3DMARK06 and some drivers, re-install the drivers and it should work, I have had the same problem before and it got fixed by re-installation of drivers

Ive had a similar issue where GPU-Z would say that SLI is disabled when I had it enabled. Like Brolloks said, re-installation of the drivers should fix the problem.

I reinstalled the drivers (did that earlier right after I installed the second card) but I reinstalled the drivers a second time. I ran 3dmark06 again, this time with the nvidia monitorview open, and the graph shows that both cards do go up about 20c above idle temps, so 3dmark is using them both, but all the scores are the same. So could 3dmark just be averaging the load between the 2 cards? (I realise that the cpu is holding them back, but I think the score should go up somewhat.)

If you are referring to the computer in your sig, you are heavily cpu limited.

I am, and I know, but running at 1920x1200 and 1 8800GT is having a hard time.

Support Thideras' comment 100%, the mistake many people make with SLI or any powerfull card is to froget about the CPU's capability, unless you have a 1066, or 1333 C2D CPU (or AMD equivalent) running at 3.6 and above you cannot expect that a GT/GTS SLI will much improve your 3DMARK or overall graphics perfromance.

OK, well I just give it a try in a normal game then. I know in DiRT it never really got above 20fps at 1920x1200 (but easily hit 55fps at 1440x900)
