Does the 9600gt or 8800gt provide more bang for the buck? I just bought a 9600gt and was thinking of going SLI in a few months with it, but i'm not sure if i want to switch to a 8800gt setup and go sli with that instead right now. Any thoughts? Thanks!

9600GT if you'll replace it in not long, 8800GT if you plan to keep it longer. The extra shaders only make a difference in a few games out atm but will make more of a difference as time goes on. Of course in a year and a half there will no doubt be a mid-range card that rocks them both, if you go SLI go SLI right away or almost right away, buying half now and half later usually isn't any better than getting a good single card at each time point.

9600GT is the best bang for the buck.
9600GT = $114 / 13000 = .008769 cents per 3dmark06 point
8800GT = $155 / 14500 = .010690 cents per 3dmark06 point

Just ordered a Palit 9600gt off newegg. Apparently they have almost every 9600GT with a MIR that makes it even more dirt cheap lol.
