I'm sure that this has been asked a hundred times but, here goes. I bridged the L1's on my 1600+ via the defogger paint method, only to have it now show up as a 1700+. I completely removed the paint and and re-applied it but, I still got the same results. I have given myself a pretty healthy headache trying to see the bridges so I don't really want to do it again. Any ideas?

Hey there, welcome to the Forum. You said it show up as 1700+, this isn't necessarily bad. But were you able to change the multiplier and overclock the CPU?

You probably are grounding out somewhere. You have to make sure tha you don't get the paint on the little "L1" or the "triangle" next to the bridges. I had to try 3 times, the first two I just rushed through it. The third time I spent over 3 hours doing it and now it is all good. I put 7 coats of clear coat nail polish in the pits, letting each coat dry for 5 min, then I spent about 10-20 on each individual bridge to make sure that I only had defogger paint on the bridges and not on anything else. After all of that, all I can say is every mult works without a single prob. I know how the headache feels, but it's worth the effort, and on top of all that I have an Alpha HSF, every time I messed up I had to take out my motherboard!! Good luck!

Thanks for the response. The multiplier is locked @11.0 as if it were a 1700. 1700 is o.k. but it's kind of like putting a super charger on a big block an only getting an additional 2hp. I took a look and it looks like the paint is only where it should be but, there is probably an out of place molecular sized ball of paint somewhere. Oh well, it looks like I get to try again. Thanks again for the help.
