:(

This is defineatly bad news for those of us who have Athlon T-birds and have the 266fsb motherboards. According to a Japaneese journalist, an AthlonXP (Throughbred) 2400+ 2GHz AthlonXP with a D stepping (a.k.a 333fsb) processor was spotted.

Get this, its a Green organic waffer too. Then again, I heard this was getting common even now?? OK, as for the rest, the core looks alot smaller than the current AthlonXP core.

Current known Futher AthlonXP Models:

XP2000+ 1.66GHz Palamino with C Stepping (January 7th)
XP2200+ 1.80GHz Throughbred with C Stepping (March)
XP2400+ 1.93GHz Throughbred with C Stepping (May)
XP2400+ 2.00GHz Throughbred with D Stepping (June~July)

Current known Further Duron Models:

Duron 1300MHz Morgan with B Stepping (January 7th)
Duron 1400MHz Morgan with B Stepping (March)
Duron 1500MHz Morgan with B Stepping ??Still Rumor!??
Duron 1533MHz Morgan with C Stepping ??Still Rumor!??

Take it as is. If I was going to upgrade from my 1.0GHz processor, I would wait then slam in an XP2400+ and clock it to 2.1GHz:D

Does the Duron have a Threat by Summer time?
A:Ohya, I hear a new VIA processor is supposed to hit shelves early spring which is clocked at 1.0GHz and outperforms the Duron 1GHz in everything. AND, no fan on the processor required. Apparently, VIA is using .13M FAB on these new little speed deamons. Expect MMX/3Dnow!/Advanced/Pro/SSE/SSE2) support!
I know I aint no VIA processor fan but this does sound good specially for under $100 US

The green package is fairly common now. Every XP I've seen for the past month was green. Doesn't seem to be immune to bending though...

I will upgrade again then. Have to have the fastest and best. Yes its a curse, my drug of choice and prolly will bankrupt me in the future :D but who cares.

XPs are not brown, they're copper colored. That's right copper!

I bet 10,000 the via chip doesn't work with a Sound Blaster! LOL

the newest ones will be the green color like the xp2000 and such. I don't know about the durons haven't seen a green one yet. Is there really any difference?

el, from what I've heard, the only difference between the Green and Brown waffers is that the Green ones are supposed to be cheaper to make and are just as effective! Also, the green chips are supposed to be a little more tuffer.

Well Green it is then! AMD's favorite color is green and Intel's favorite color is blue, so why are P///s, Celleryons, and P4s green too? Shouldn't they be blue???

Maybe for the same reason as AMDs will be green : cheaper to produce !

Just get the .13 2200+ then oc to 2.3Ghz!

And if you have a 266FSB board (like the 8KHA+) buy PC2700mem and set it to 333FSB in bios.
