What the... is that...?
I guess that would be the step after the PC-2700. Can anyone confirm what this RAM is, and if it would actually run as a PC-3000 module??

hmmm..its on their authorized list...is it worth an $80 gamble? :p

Well looking at the crucial site just now shows 256mb for $72 so I guess if at the worst it performs only as well as crucial 2100 no great loss.

ComponentAUthority.com has a good deal about it and at a cheaper price. It is OCZ ram and you can go to Overclockerz.com, the people that make the ram, And check it out also.

To be PC-3000 shouldnt it run at 200fsb ?

Or have I oversimplified things.

I think it should use at least 5ns chips to be PC-3000 although again my gesimated calculations may be out.

Isn't it just great that ocz's site has been down for the past week? Anyway, I wouldn't buy this stuff. After the trouble I had, and I know it isn't just me, with their 2700 I am shocked they even released 3000. I would just wait until Kingmax releases their 3000. After all, they are the only company with REAL 2700 out, not just oc'ed stuff. To my knowledge no other company even has real 2400 out. I vistit Hong Kong frequently and for those that don't know much about Kingmax, they are like the Crucial of Asia and Europe. I personally have a stick of there 2700 and was have it stable at a 160 fsb, and am waiting another day to push it more. I haven't even increaed the voltage yet! However, I am a little unsure about doing that because I have heard that it doesn't do well with high voltage...doesn't need them high anyway. I want to see ocz go out of biz. The only thing that I have ever liked from their was their titan 3 video card that I bought only because they only gave me in store credit for the ram I sent back. And their heatsinks are made poorly. Bash OCZ! Lol. I just went a little overboard. But, it is true, don't waste your cash on OCZ.

You are right but the current pcb design does not allow 200mhz stable so they sell it as 2700.

Mushkin also sells 2700 ddr with 6ns chips.

Samsung also show's 2700 ddr as being in mass production since early december.

I am sure there will be more to come in the next few month's.

Everyone is talking about Kingmax Mushkin and OCZ. Where is the Micron pc2700 that runs at cas 1.3 that is what i have been looking for. Is it out yet? does anyone know about this memory?

Micron is supposed to sell some 2700 ddr soon.
I don't know about cas 1.5 as no ddr motherboard's use that at present that I know of.

Here is a article from 8 dec where the reviewer used a engineering sample of the micron 2700 (333) ddr.

http://www.exhardware.com/reviews.php?Id=49&Page=4

And here is the micron web page:
http://www.micron.com/products/category.jsp?path=/DRAM/DDR+SDRAM&ct=hp.pl

These are the spec's listed.Timing - Cycle Time
6ns @ CL = 2.5 (DDR333B--FBGA) -6 Supports PC2700 modules with 2.5-3-3 timing
6ns @ CL = 2.5 (DDR333B--TSOP) -6T Supports PC2700 modules with 2.5-3-3 timing.

http://www.micron.com/products/datasheet.jsp?path=/DRAM/DDR+SDRAM&fileID=675

I did talk to someone who got the ocz 3000 ddr.
He said it has nanya 7ns chips and he could only get it to 166mhz.

Thats right, there out and they are fast, actually, they can run 100% stable @ 366MHz CL2.5 / 333MHz CL2 or 266MHz CL1.3

Now, thats POWER MAN!

My friend is running his Duron with a 383FSB and his OCZ ram is @ 383MHz with CL2.5!

383MHz Ram! with Duron!

OCZ DDR PC3000 Memory

p.s - I wonder how OCZ PC3000 DDR compares with Micron's DDRII PC2700? I bet it's gatta be close!

Damn man, must be expensive ****. companies make the MOST profit from selling Ram cuz those ram chips are relatively EASY to make and design.... Same with DDR, they basically use the SAME chips as SDR ram, but with different PCB 'n ****... It only takes 5% more to make DDR ram compared to SDR, yet they're charging 2x the price for DDR.

Think about it, 2 sticks of good quality 256MB DDR ram (like KingMax DDR333) costs about $160, which is more than enough to buy you an AXP 1700+.... But which costs more to design and make?? THE CPU!!

This stuff is overclocked pc2100! The chips are 7.5ns chips according to OCZ as far as I know. Be carefull!

Ive posted about these before... These are actually cheap. 256mb module is about 80 to 90 dollars. These are 2.5 CAS 6ns chips. I thought about buying them, seeing as how they are very cheap for PC3000, but would feel MUCH better with Kingmax or the new Corsair PC2700 modules. Right now i have the Corsair XMS2400, so maybe ill just wait a bit longer.

If you are going with Kingmax, make sure their is a -05 on the second line of the chip. If it is 07a it is a 7.5 ns part. I have seen both with the same DDR333 part number.
