Hey'lo everybody

I want to set up 2 partitions on my PC one for WinXPPro and the other for Win98SE. I have Parition Magic 7 Pro installed and am just getting ready to set up a 1 Gig for Win98SE, but I'm curious as to how I set things up with the opitions for Duel Booting.
My XP parition is in NTFS format so I know that I will be unable to get the programs on that partition, but will i beable to take data from the 98SE and use it in XP?
See i have a scanner that will not work in XP but does in 98SE and i really need to beable to use it. So I plan on having it on 98SE and that's about it. All my other programs will be run on XP, so how do i set this up?

I haven't done a dual boot with win xp and 98, but I have done a dual boot with win2000 and 98. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming the process will be pretty similar with xp.

Install xp first on one partition, then install 98 on the other partition. After you install 98 and reboot you should get an OS loader screen that will list both of the OS's you just installed and you can choose which one you want to boot into.

The other way around, Do your partitions, install 98SE first, then boot with your XP CD and install it on the other partition, since it's NTFS, 98 won't be able to access it so your're safe there for mixing both OS's system files "98 and XP both uses (windows) dir as their root sysdir".. on the other hand, when you boot into XP, you will be able to play around with 98 files if you want to, in another word, the parition is visible to XP. And yes, you will get the dual boot screen "boot loader" done auto to ya... Good luck!

OK well, I have Win XP Pro on my main parition. So i have to make the other parition and install 98 and then do a re-install of XP is that what your saying? So i can't just add the new partition and OS while XP is on there?
