Bigger cooler.. Worse temp

I have an asus v8200 ti500 and I decided to replace the stock fan and hs so i took them off and took an extra socket a heatsink i had (a global win) and drilled some holes on it and threw it on with some as2. According to asus smartdoctor my temps are about 10* worse. I have checked the contact between the heatsink and the core and they seem fine any ideas?

How are you monitoring the temperatures

I was using asus probe until I broke a capacitor or something off of the back and now when i start it up there are green lines all through the image:mad: I tried putting the capacitor back on by sotering(sp) but it didnt work so now im in the hole :(
