I know how not to crack anymore cores! I am surprised noone thought of this before!


BALLOONS!!!



Yes balloons. You know those clown balloons? Can you blow them up partially place them on either side of the core. Then fumble the HS clip on... hold up the HS while you pop the ballons then place the HS gently on the CPU!

Any comments?

I need to brainstorm a little more on this!

I tried that but when the balloon pops, my HS drops and smashes into my CPU core and shattered it!!!! I'm gonna sue your ass!!!

Oh gawd dude that sucks, sorry to hear the smashing, brings a tear to me eye. And for balloon guy, what the hell hehehehe, I have never seen that as a way of putting on a cpu clip.

I've never broken or crushed or damaged a core on any of the Durons or T-birds I've worked on. And I've gotten it down to where I can replace a processor in under five minutes, which includes cleaning the ASII off the old processor. Just be careful, and know what you're doing.

No you guys dont get it you install the clip using the balloons as cushions then hold the HS and pop the balloons then SLOWLY set the HS!

I understood exactly what you were saying and still say a controlled release valve hooked to the balloons. You install the HS and slowly release the air. The HS will gently settle onto the core.

Just cant imagine how it is done too... :D . SO far, Ive remove and replaced my HSF countless of time already I have yet to crack my core... I suppose its because I have steady hands, eh...:cool:

Yeah but all of that would require too much money and effort to set up.



People! HOW many times do I need to 'splain it?


When do cores go crunch? when the clip install gets hairy and you put strees on the core. But if you stressed the balloon instead then popped the balloon you remove the riskiest part of the HS install from the equation!

I suck in MS paint or I would draw a picture....
