VID1 for 1.85v on a 1.75v default coppermine.

Since were talking about vid pinning is there a way to undo the process of vid pinning?

May ask exactly what is vid pinning? I have the same cpu as you and would also like to up my vcore...well im guessing that is what you are trying to do.

Vidpin mod is connecting some of the pins on the CPU, so the default voltage is increased. One way to do it is by connecting the pins together with a little wire, and the other is to simply put the wire in the correct holes in the socket, so htat when hte CPU enters the socket, the pins will touch the wires, and the default voltage will be increased

Are there any better guides available other than the hardocp's

Yea there are some in the overclockers.com database.

Although you forget that this mod should only be done when you need extra voltage it shouldn't be done for fun.

Like the 1.2 Celeron Tualatin Retail will need extra voltage to run 1.6 correctly and their own Tualatin vidpin will have to kick in, in order to run stable.

If your CPU has a default of 1.75v, then the VID1 pin was not connected to anything internally. Missing VID1 pin will not affect the workings of the CPU in anyway, except now you can't wire it to the VSS pin for a default voltage signal of 1.85v. Maybe this was a omen that you were not meant to do the wire trick for more voltage. What mobo are you using?
