I'm looking for a really good H.S.F. for my Fiancee`s computer. I've started building it and she told me no to the whole watercoling thing:( So whats a really good H.S.F. for a 800 Celeron. No it will not be O.C.ed but I do want it to be stable and don't want the B.S.O.D. to happen.

Bone stock Celeron? Hmmm. I "Zip-tied" a 92 mm to a P3-550.
With a large stock HS. (Big,Black funky thing) ;)
Works fine.

$20, copper base aluminum fins, hella big fan, includes silver paste. Fits t-birds and celerys. Tool-less clip. Sounds good to me...:D
Personally heres my tip.
Intel don't run hot.
All you need is just the Stock Intel Retail fan and ASII or Arctic Alumina to have good heat transfer between the two as the system will be ocing.
This is what I like about Intel.
To run at default speeds you can just use Intel coolers and have no air flow within the case and everything will run fine.
So good thermal compound and the retail fan is all you need to run at default.

Did you buy it OEM or something? Retail usually comes with a fan.
Go around and look for a cheap fan that pushes a near 20cfm or so.
A local vendor will defintely sell these.

Well like I said there's nothing fancy needed on it so just get her an alluminum heatsink that will push from 20-25cfm and something quiet enough so she doesn't ask for ear plugs :burn:

Sorry to say but she only gets the best or what ever she wants which ever comes first.

Not understanding...
Basically the best is normal fan that won't do much but cool default speeds without going into any hazardious temperatures above 50 or so.

Lets put it this way she only gets the best. If she was going with an AMD then she would've had a MCX462 with a 80mm 80c.f.m. Delta. She will be doing alot of gaming and surfing. There for I don't want her to end up with the B.S.O.D. Like the song says "Treat her right"

But see the reason people buy new coolers is for a purpose and that purpose to buy Swiftech is for extreme HSF to do a 100% overclock.
I mean does she really need to go down to 30 degrees to surf and game and stuff.
I had a P3 with an Intel retail and it was fine for 2 years.
I gamed, I surfed I burn-in the chip.

Ok seeing how that didn't help you to understand maybe this will. I'm the type that don't like anything stock that goes for computers as well as cars. I spent 6 years building a custom lowrider and so far 5 months building a custom computer.

I had pretty good results with a PIII 933 HS (lapped), with the fan from a PIII 1Ghz, and ASII. I'm sticking it on the computer I bought for my mother. The thing I like about it, is that it keeps temps under 40°C under load (at stock speed), and at highest 46°C under load, Oc'ed to 992 Mhz. Big bonus, is that it's quiet. The quiet part is a reqirement of my mother's system, no Oc'ing it...
