Intel Retail Edge 2008

For those of you who get the chance to participate in it but wait till the end of the year, (Like everyone else I work with *sigh*) Intel's doing two purchase programs this year. Here are the details posted on the 5th for the one that's RUMORED to start June 2, 2008. As you can see, there's no date on the site, but that's what our Intel rep communicated to us.

Round 1: ROCKSTARS BECOME ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS:
Lenovo IdeaPad* Y510 with Intel® Centrino® Mobile Technology - $499 (USD)
And/or one of the two processors:
Intel® Core 2 Extreme Processor QX6850 - $239 (USD)
Intel® Core 2 Extreme Processor QX6700 - $199 (USD)
Round 2: MOVIESTARS ENTER THE MIX AND BECOME ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE THE PRODUCTS
Round 3: PRODUCERS ALSO BECOME ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE THE PRODUCTS

As you can see, no 45nm this time around, but I'm told those should come this winter in the normal cycle. Enjoy!

Basically you take a bunch of what I used to call 'Intel propaganda' quizzes and read some articles. Honestly, there's really no catch other than reading about something you already know.

AMD fans beware though, they've recently started some direct attacks on the tricore!

I did last year's program for my Q6700, so I can state with 100% confidence, no catch.
