I've got a SMP cliet on vista that hangs at "Ending MPI" after 100% completion. It will hang and I have to stop and restart client so it will send and recieve a new wu. Sometimes I am losing half a day or more. Any Idea's?
That's a bewildering error. My idea is it was an overclock that was just a tad too much, but I can't be sure.
I tend to run almost stock speeds, because I had a plethora of such weird errors when I overclocked much. Now I have none of them.

How long does it "hang" there. It can take up to 15 minutes for it to finish what it is doing.
Reset permissions (apply to all child folders/files) and re-run the install.bat file in the directory.

It always hangs until I restart it....1/2 day or so sometimes. It always hangs after the 100% frame is done when it says sending mpi. I dont think I have ever had a eue or any other issues with it ever.

My suggestion still stands :)

Are you running as service or actual console?

Just an update on this.... I think it is a UAC or permissions kind of thing. If I dont minimize the window it works fine. Has been working well for a few weeks now.

Check under task manager and see if more than one copy of mpiexec.exe is running. If so, stop FAH and end all the mpiexec.exe that are running using the end process button.
That seems to help my system prevent 100% stops.

Note, it is **not** necessary to disable UAC to properly run Folding@Home—the executables merely need to run as Administrator. (If installed as a service they should be doing so - after all, you can't write to the Registry to install a service if you don't have Admin privileges. :) )
