If you already have a t-bird, why not give an XP a try?

yeah I think the best one would be the 1600 right now can get it for about 123! good price and will do well with good cooling.

If you've really got money to burn, you could put a solid state drive in a dual XP 1800+ box. That'll take care of your money real fast. :D Not to mention that you'll get a much greater improvement than just getting a new CPU (ie imagine windoze loading in 5 seconds).

If you just want to waste money buy Intel :)

You can get one of the lesser Athlon XP's and make it a XP 2000+,
there's even a video on Tom's Hardware showing you how to do it.

Use the extra money for more Ram (DDR 2100), an Aluminum Case, or a really good heatsink for the CPU.
