I kept my Glaciator. so far it is working pretty good.

Just tooling around online I am at 91 F cpu / 68 F case temps
according to my software on my MSI K7 T Turbo.

I am running a 1.4 T-Bird @1.4

Antec SX-1030 case with 2 Delta 92mm Intake fans and 2 Delta 92mm exhaust fans. case appears to stay pretty cool.

not as loud as my Gladiator/ Delta screamer.

how do these temps seem with this setup???

thanks,
Mike

I forgot to mention. It is NOT lapped. I will take care of that next.

Please post temps in Celcius. Most people do, and we have many members from outside the U.S. I don't even remember how to compare them, I've been using 'C' for so long. You'll also be more able to follow the posts of others once you get used to it.

Once you get the temps, write them down and lap the glaciator, it'd be nice to compare what lapping does for it.

I'm happy to see you stuck with it. Sometimes it's the harder route to make what you have work, and I for one, like working 'uphill'.

Yeah post in Celsius. And what is your load temp?

currently Celcius temps are:

34 cpu / 20 case

don't know what the load temps are yet cause I haven't done anything under load. just surfing so far.

will do some test in a minute or 2

will lapp soon.

They seem good since the AMD Tbird 1.4 get very hot.

Nice. 35C is a good respectable temp. That's what my watercooler did before my latest improvements.
Now for some lapping action, and hopefully another drop in temps.
You can start overclocking where it's at now too! Good job.

I'm working on modding my new 1030 and would like to see how you went about putting the 92mm fans in. From what I've been considering, it will have to be a pretty good hack job because of the way all the holes in the sheet metal line up. If you could just post a pic of the way you mounted the 92s, I'd appreciate it!

for the intakes they pretty much lined up. hadto drill 1 or 2 new holes but basically went right where they were before except I didn't use the blue brackets that came with case. I put one on bottom and the other in the square box thing above it.

For the exhaust it was a little tricky to find a way to mount them. I didn't want to cut up the case so I used zip ties and managed to mount them down where the smaller exhaust fans go. almost perfect but off center just a bit.

they all work fine and really pull in some air. and push it out too. I figured having same in/ out fans would help flow.

sorry i don't have a pic but my camera isn't working since I got W2K....

no to find a way to duct cooler air to the Glaciator.....I still have a 92mm Delta left I am not using.

her in brazil, because the external tempratures , the processors run sometimes at 60º C .

the average her is 40~50º

Um...why are you lapping this heatsink? Did it get messed up in shipping or something?

I was thinking that too. This heatsink (Glaciator) has the smoothest bottom I've ever seen by far. It was shipped with a plastic protectant on the bottom because it was so smooth.

I haven't lapped it yet. I was just thinking about it.

I am really more interestedin ducting the outside air to the Glaciator.

I dont want to cut any holesin my Antec case so I will have to pipe in air from the front intake.

Well basically to lap his headsink it'll cut maybe 2+ More degrees so he'll be down to really lower 30's.

My Glaciator 1 didnt actually need lapping to make it flat but it did help that i lapped it, it cant hurt as long as you do it correctly.

Also how did you use that case (the sx1030) and 4 92mm fans, the sizes that it is made to hold is only 80mm fans? Did you mod them

the 92mm will fit but slightly off center. had to drill a couple of holes but that was it. amazing what you can do with Zip ties and not do permanent damage. I didn't do anything else but that and got much better cooling flow.
