I will have my HTPC hooked up to a JVC Home Theater receiver using the mobo's SPDIF output. The receiver has the connections for, of course, the 5.1 speaker setup plus it has an option to hook up two extra speakers. I would like to use this option to run some speakers out to my deck.

My question is, what are some good water PROOF...not resistant...speakers for outdoor use?

Price range not to exceed $125.00 USD.

"Outdoor speakers" are what ye be looking for.

I think the Polk Atrium would come close to the $125 mark, you'll have to do the web shopping yourself, but most decent pairs of outdoor speakers start @ $150, or singles for around $80.

Make sure you use a really high quality outdoor speaker cable with a really thick well shielded jacket, and don't forget that really long cable runs produce substantial signal degradation- so you'll want to use really good quality stuff of a relatively thick gauge. Remember to be very tidy with your connections also and don't leave so much as a milimeter of wire past the connectors on the back of the speakers- and make sure the jacket (coating of wire) is right up to the connector. Outdoors, you are much more prone to interference from other sources- and unjacketed cable picks it up a lot.
