what cdo4 server?

i just played today online for a little bit, what server is best? or is there not a best one?

Just find one that has a low ping and plays the maps and gamemodes you like. There are thousands of servers so choosing a best one would be difficult. Use the filters built into the server browser to find a few servers that fit your preferences and add them to your favorites.

I mean just play in some servers and if they play the gamemodes (Team Deathmatch, S&D, FFA, whatever) or the maps you like, add them to your favorites so you can come back to them next time you play and won't have to go through the process of searching for another server.

so i understand the modes now, whats the best map? and where can i find map descriptions?

I wouldn't worry too much about the maps, most servers just play a rotation of all the maps so you will learn them in no time.
