through tons of research i've decided to go with the AuzenTech Auzen X-Fi Prelude but i have a question..can i hook this up via toslink instead of rca(pics below) and if so will it sound better?

By toslink I assume you mean optical digital?

If so, I don't see any optical input on the receiver, and I am not sure if the sound card has optical output. I do see an optical output on the receiver though, but I don't think this will help you.

No matter anyway as it carries the EXACT same signal as the coaxial RCA connector with no difference in sound quality whatsoever.

No idea why they look like that, but you will break it if you try and plug it in.

theres a aux rca connector on the back which i can use to hook it up via rca to 3.5mm plug
