audio--> get via pci latency patch, and try not to share an irq with soundcard
USB--> get a pci usb controller card that doesn't use any via chips. Install it and your USB will magically WORK! VIA has no tech support for USB issues and their patches/fixes/new 4-in-1's are worthless crap when it comes to USB problems. By all means try these first and see if they work for you, but from my experience only a USB card will solve the problem, and it's better to spend $20 now than sit through hours of frustration with no success. Look through the the usb section of the forums at viaarena.com, and you'll see what I mean.
I'm never buying anything Via again!
