This gave me quite the chuckle.
so tomorrow is my last final and right at the end, i am quickly packing my car and heading home. because its an early evening exam, i will be in a rush to make the 4-6 hr drive in a reasonable time. because of that, i decided to braek down my pc tonight and drain it of coolant as well as detach the external rad.
bad idea since your brain tends to stop working after spending a couple of weeks studying for 5 straight finals. so everything is going fine, its a little awkward trying to catch all of the liquid while making sure i dont knock my rad off its hinges. so i get the idea.. hey, why dont i remove the bleed screw at the top of the rad! air will enter and in a kind and controlled way, slowly force the coolant out of the barbs at the bottom. not sure why i thought this, again i think my brain is just shot after all the studying.
so what happens? as any sensible person would expect, the water comes shooting out of the barbs. well lucky me, i have all the plates off of the pci slots, so where does it shoot? in my case, reaching about 3/4 to the front!.. soaked my xtremegamer sound card. i had about 1/2" of coolant in the bottom of my case.
i just kinda sat there, laughing at my own stupidity for a few minutes. well good thing i wont be firing this puppy back up for another two weeks or so!

lol. Sorry to hear about shooting coolant all over your PC but that is kinda funny
try having a line blow off your pump spraying mobo, cpu, video, and psu while running and blowing 1 gal of distilled water with primochill liquid utopia uv red in it. Funny thing is I wasn't near computer and I just heard the pumps grinding like hell, system shut down due to heat and nothing was hurt at all, although soaking wet

I lol'd. That's why I'll never go water, as I tend to attract that kind of stuff :P
Yep had clamp but was my fault anyhoo, kept moving the pump around making tweaks to bios and had to clear cmos couple times. Just didn't have tubing streched far enough, 1/2 over 5/8 barbs, least water was distilled so it was sae as possible, literally poured a small pond out of the psu and it was still live lol. Course pulled all power cords before touching it just in case.
Funny thing is I wanted to drain down and change a few things but was to lazy, guess it decided to for me

yeah, the great thing about being in college is often you are missing some of the essentials, like paper towels and napkins. however, since i am in a university owned apartment, they supply toilet paper, or should i save over supply! living with one roomate, we have compiled liek an extra 30 roles over the course of the year. either way, there was more than enough TP to sop up the mess :)

 Nice one, phil! For the record, though, I've pulled more than my share of boneheaded plays like that, and MORE! :screwy:

Water is just too much of a pain. I had a junction leak slowly onto my sound card. Drip by drip it suffered until one day I didn't have sound. And I think we have all been there when fooling with water cooling...it's 1am and taking apart the loop sounds like a good idea until water goes everywhere. That sucks, but at least nothing is fried.
