View Full Version : Sanyo Denki vs Scythe Kaze with a pa 120.3
i have both of these fans in abundance, 7 Sanyo Denki 109R1212H1011 and 6 Scythe Kaze SY1225SL12SH. the Denki's push 103 cfm @ 39dba and the Kaze's push 110 cfm @ 37dba my question is which would be better for my pa 120.3? i have read the the Denki's were the best on the market at one point and have read that the Kaze's arent accurate in how much cfm's they push. also there def seems to be more than a 2dba difference in the 2 fans as the Denki's are relatively louder than the Kaze's. also, i cant find the info on what kind of static pressure the Kaze's provide but the Denki's are rated @ 64.7Pa. i havent decided on if i will do push or pull or both but i really dont wanna have to keep pulling the fans in and out. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Do the garbage bag test. Stick them both in the entrance to a garbage bag that you seal around the fan, see if one inflates it significantly faster, and make your choice from there.

Sanyo's at 7 volts, problem solved. :santa2:
don't need a huge amount of air with that rad, I would go with the kaze myself with a controller so you can change the speeds.
i picked up a controller from petras and gonna start with the sanyo's i may still use the kaze's just because they are not nearly as thick. lol. im trying to run my loop inside the case and im thinking these denki's are gonna be in the way of my mobo.
I still vote kaze, mo quiet mo betta. But seeing the kaze are 25mm and others are 38mm, th 38mm will move are better thru the rad, but at the same time you don't wanna move it to fast as the faster the air moves the less heat it transfers, same with water, so just gotta find a healthy balance, prolly do fine moving around 70 to 80 cfm more so than 100+ on that rad.
