Ok, here goes. I recently got into this whole overclocking and cooling business, but have learned alot in a short time. I think I have everything here the way it should be, but would appreciate it if someone would let me know if I'm making any obvious blunders. This system is going on top of an AMD K6-2 550. I'm shooting for 650 to 700 MHz stable.

Does this sound right to everyone? I'm thinking about something similar for my GPU, just with a smaller scale heatsink and no coldplate.

Honestly, I have no pelt exp. Although I have read , and been tempted.:D It looks pretty good from this end. Does it run yet?
Or are you still building?
I know PS's are an issue with pelts. "You got E-nuff juice to make it go?"
Keep us posted.
and Welcome to the Fourms !

I don't know about that dragon orb having enough cooling power for use with a pelt. Be sure you watch it close at first.

I got a 400w power supply in my case. Should be enough juice there. I'm gonna watch the Dragon Orb and see if it has enough cooling. I'm kinda limited because I got a Socket 7. I can't use any of the four screw style heatsinks like the heavy duty Swiftechs (what I'd really like).

How many amps ya got on your +12 volt line? Around 18 or something, right? That'll be more than enough. I use a 550w PSU to drive an air cooled 80W TEC in my system, but that's not even pushing it. I use the Swiftech MCX462, which I know won't fit yours, but the Dragon Orb isn't like the rest of the orbs....it actually works. Is it the copper bottom or the aluminum bottom version?

Copper bottom. From what I've read copper is much better.

Yes, it is. If it does then that dragon's supposed to cool pretty well. I'd give it a shot with the peltier and see what happens. I'm pretty sure that you'll get results
