Help... Trying to hook up a 2900XT but it need BOTH a 6 pin and 8 pin power inputs. My powersupply only has a 6 pin.

Tried a 4 pin molex to 8 pin EPS from Fry's and it doesn't fit.

Can someone send me a link.

Do you have two 6 pin PCIe supplies? There's a 6 pin to 8 pin PCIe adapter.

Thanks again, BTW the girls LOVE Sesame street animals because they are cuddly, furry, and fun to play with. Just don't tell them they are not real but puppets.

Dual 6-pins work fine here on R600 CF, no adapter...if your PSU is beefy enough.

no overdrive overclocking with dual 6pins though. you can still use ATItool.

The power supply for the system is A PC power and Cooling Turbo 510 SLI.

The rig is non overclocked X2 4400 with 2 SATa drives in Raid o.

The video card is an ATI 2900XT single mode. I'll try the dual 6 pin.

I do all overclocking via BIOS in CF, single card I use Riva.

That should work fine Hef

If you want overdrive with a 6 pin just take a paper clip and short the two unplugged pins with each other. ;)

I know that this thread is a week into hibernation, but I just have to ask.

Who was the first to try that paper clip trick...and just how drunk were they when they tried it? :D
