Well, just wondering if anyone's got any ideas, here's the story...

I got a Leadtek Ti200 T (the cheaper one without monitoring) a couple months ago. First thing I did was rip off the stock HSF, clean it up and spread on some ASII. This card has a pretty cheapo HSF on it, no memory cooling either. -Side note- I recommend that anyone looking at a Leadtek spend the extra $20 for the TDH (not the plain T) that has the monitoring and better HSF. All is good, 'cept I knew that crappy heatsink what holding back the OCability. SO...

I ditch the stock HSF and slap on an Antec P4 cooler I had layin' around, not a great cooler, but I needed something NOW! Only problem was that it blocked 3 PCI slots, so I knew it was only going to be temporary. It did allow me to OC to 255/570, and that was with no memory cooling! 3DMark of 5900, which is about top of the pack for 900MHz at MadOnion. I kept it at 210/480 for everyday use, totally stable. SO...

I'd been looking for a great HSF for the Ti that wouldn't block more than 1 PCI slot (I'm planning on adding a Promise RAID controller soon) and also add some cooling for the memory. I finally settled on an Alpha PAL15 and some of those Copper Ramsinks. Well, they arrived a couple days ago, and I decided to go ahead and put 'em on last night. SO...

I pop the card in the freezer for 15 minutes, and rip off the P4 cooler (held on with Alumina Adheasive/Alumina mix 1-1-1). All seems fine. I clean everything up and glue on the Ramsinks and finally the Alpha. I had to cut off 1 row of pins off the Alpha to allow the card to seat fully into the AGP slot. THEN...

I power her up, and DOH!! Nothing, just a thin green line running down the right side of the screen. I can hear the HD running and it beeps like it normally does so I know its posting ok. !@$%! I even tried plugging a TV into the S-Video out, same green line. I plugged in an old ATI card, and viola, post and boot, no problems. Then I removed the newly installed HSF and Ramsinks, still no screen. WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!

This is like the 4th video card I have added some form of cooling to (I even made my own HSF and Ramsinks out of an old slot 1 cooler for my old Geforce2 GTS, see sig). I've never had any trouble so far, and I did this Ti200 just like the rest. Looking at the board, I don't see any scratches or anything out of the ordinary. ANYWAY...

I was just wondering if any of y'all have any ideas, or if anyone else has the same set up on a Leadtek, or other Ti200. I'm 99.44% sure the board is toast. I'll probably try the card in the kid's machine just for the helluvit.

And for goodness sake BE CAREFUL when you're adding cooling to your new baby!

Put a socket A heatsink on it and one of the screws i put through knocked off a capacitor or something it was quite small less than an 1/2 inch off. Then whenever i start it up I get nice green lines all through the display. I tried putting it back on but to no avail :(

try resitting ur card..
reinstalling it, different drivers (if u can get it to boot)
making sure u didnt get any expoxy on any mem/core leds.. altho i dont think aluma would fry like ac2 would....
just try everything possible..
id hate if you lost ur card.. so dont ever give up!

if you do, clean it up, and put the orginal sinks back on, and try and rma it.. you might get lucky if you try hard enough..

well starting the card w/o the cap may have burned it..

I had something similar with my GF2 MX (The green lines).

I'm still not sure what it was, I had modded it to a Quadro MXR but I recently put a switch on it cuz I got sick of the driver problems and its instability.

I know that doesn't help, its just to let you know that your card may not be lost.

I'm gonna try a couple things...

Does anyone know if rubbing alcohol can damage the pcb? I'm thinking that a good rinse might loosen up some offending matter, if indeed I have managed to bridge a gap somewhere.

Thanx for the input, I'll keep y'all posted!

Well, I cleaned her up real good, and tried it again in my rig. No dice. I tried it in the kid's rig, no dice.

Oh well, that which does not kill us makes us better overclockers, right?;)

Same thing to me! On my Prophet 3...I gave it to Monster of Rock(on the forums), and he tested out the piece that had been knocked off, and said that instead of having it's regular resistance it had infinite, and hence the green lines of death!! He had been looking around for a replacement part, for awhile, but still no luck. See if you can find a data sheet on it and replace the part at Radioshack or even a speciality place online. You'll probably be able to rescue the card if you solder a new one on! GL
