So, I posted earlier in another thread that I was going to take the plunge and purchase a Geforce 8800GTS 320 meg card from this new sight for 79$, an amazing deal. I was very weary but the reseller ratings showed them to be a new but ok sight. I made my purchase on a Saturday afternoon and was promptly sent an email saying that they did receive my order and my credit card showed that the company did take the money off of the card.
But on Monday I still hadn't received any other emails about the card, being an invoiceing order or tracking order showing that the card had indeed been sent. I started to get worried and at 10 pm monday night I did more digging on the company. I did a google search of their phone number and saw a lot of people saying that other "Scam" companies had indeed used that same number and that FXVideocards.com was probably a scam site. I then sent an email to their contact address requesting the information.
Not 15 minutes later I received an email from them from a person named Melissa. She stated that they did receive my order and that they were a little backed up at the moment and were processing tracking invoices at that moment. She said I should be receiving the requested information within the next 24 hours or so. I was definatly impressed by the speed of the responce and the professional manner of the email but was still quite worried.
Well, today (Tuesday) I received another email from FXVideocards.com with the requested information and tracking order number. The only problem? It came a half hour too late as I had just recived my card from Fed Ex! I must say I am VERY happy with this new video card, replacing the Geforce 8600GTS that I had before, especially at the price. The packaging was very nicley done and it was a full retail version of the card, not an OEM like I was expecting at that price.
I will definatly say this, I suggest the sight to any of you who are looking for a good alternative to the egg. The 8800 sale is now over (it was a weekend special) but I would keep an eye on these folks while looking for any good deals.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. :)
