I am folding with 2 SMP on my quad and ever since I moved to my temp housing (where the internet is about as reliable as *insert something unreliable*) I complete a WU and the next attempt to get a WU results in an immediate EUE. It can't be an overclocking issue because everything is running stock now. Any ideas?

It's corrupting your downloads maybe ?

Free options:

Install Microsoft Loopback Adapter. It keeps a network loop going between your computer and router, making the FAH client "think" it is still connected to a network, even when it's not. I don't know if this will work with straight modem connection without a router. I don't have time to research that right now.

Static IPs. If you are on a router, change your IP properties so that your computer connects through a static IP. I run a home network with several computers folding, both Ethernet and wireless. Configuring the machines for IPs - just that alone, did away completely with network-induced EUEs.

If it's not network related, from another thread. Re: ChasR

Early Unit Ends (EUEs) on p2653 are most likely due to machine instability. If the WU we see EUE in your log is the same as Project: 2653 (Run 23, Clone 29, Gen 59) that we see downloaded afterward and that WU fails in the same frame as the first, then it is a bad WU. Otherwise you're not FAH stable.

Have you moved any of the fah files lately?

I know you said you are running stock now but that doesn't mean a stick of ram isn't going bad etc, or a wrong setting in bios etc.

I think its a network issue, although I'll keep my eyes on the RAM. This is a new problem as of my move. I am moving again soon, and will be back to good internet. Hopefully this will go away. Thanks.

It could also be RAM. I think RAM induced problems are more often seen when starting the client or when the FAHCore restarts after a new work unit downloaded. Quite often that will show a "07xb" and/or "IO_error."

It's been my experience that EUE in the middle of a work unit processing cycle is CPU/FSB instability or network problems.

Well i turned my ram down on mine to 800mhz spec, just to see if downclocking would help, and sure enough im not getting the EUE anymore, you might try doing the same Molten just to see...
