when i try to over clock my 3870's in CCC using the auto tune function GPU 1 will run up to 827/1166, but GPU 2 will only go to 782/1131? is this normal? why won't it clock as high as GPU 1?

stock clocks are 777/1126

if i try to o/c them with rivatuner, GPU 1 will take just about anything i set it at, but GPU 2 fails anything i try?

rivertuner shows that they are both running, CCC has crossfire enabled, 3D06 score went from 12500 when I only had the one card, to 18300 with both cards.

both cards are identical, Diamond Viper 3870's, GPUz shows the same bios on both cards.

Yes, use a different program to overclock. I'm pretty sure ATI Tool can do both cards now effectively.

You could always individually overclock the cards while one is in the system, so you can see what the max is on each card.

Then, try to OC both cards while in crossfire to something a little bit below whatever the lowest max is.

Tried ATI Tool, same results, GPU 1 O/C no problem, GPU 2 keeps reverting back to origional clocks whenever i click on set clocks

for some reason i just can't seem to raise clock speed on the 2nd card???

Have you tried AMD GPU Clock tool (http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/536/AMD_GPU_Clock_Tool_v0.7.html)?

no 2 cards are the same.
