I have a ultra 500w power supply with 34a on the 12 volt rail. will this power 1 of the video cards. 8800s 9600s or 9800s? see my signature for the rest of my rig.

If its the old X-Connect (not the XVS or XConnect2), ditch it. The old ones were crap. The entire X-Connect series is rather ordinary. You should have no trouble at all if the unit were built better.

it may be junk but im going to get a pc power and cooling 610 very soon

nah its not, its cheap ritt now, and pc power and cooling is the best on the market, their not loud, and i dont want this thing burning up on me!
just telling.....

Why not grab a cheaper Seasonic, Silverstone, or heck even Corsair unit? Unless you really like 80mm fans and/or spending money you don't really need a PCP&C PSU at all for your setup (not to say that they're "high-end," more like far overrated for the price).


They're also owned by OCZ, which is known to use Seasonic as an OEM anyway IIRC.

yea you are somewhat right. corsair is a heck of a power supply. but im going to get the pc power and cooling for the same price. its on sale on newegg ritt now

just to try and sway you the Corsair HX620 is a much better PSU than the PCP&C and probably just as cheap. Don't skimp on the PSU !

While I have no great love for PC P&C's marketing division, buying one of their units is anything but skimping.
