Go to the main page of overclockers.com
Read the beginners guide.
We'll need to know your motherboard as well.

basically im trying to oc this p3 to 900 or 950
Overclocking Intel processors is raising the FSB while the multipliers are locked on every Intel chip.
So do this first.
Download CPUBurn.
Download Motherboard Monitor and config the temperatures.
Run the right application on CPUBurn to put 100% stress on your computer and use Motherboard Monitor to determine its temperatures.
The one near 40-50 is the CPU and the one in the 20's is the motherboard mainly.
If your temperatures exceed 45-50 don't overclock.
IF they're high 30's start cranking up the FSB SLOWLY and when it reaches 45-50 stop it until you get some better airflow in the case and a better heatsink.
Changing the FSB should be under a user define section.
Just keep your eyes on teh temperatures as this is your first time overclocking and you don't want to kill

Just wanted to add that for every 100mhz or so in processor speed... up the core voltage by 0.05... You'll get better stability... heck... if your temps are good... you might try upping it by 0.10. Just MO;)

hehe you guys rule
I wouldn't recommend upping the voltage until there's a point where he should(Stablity problems).
Overclocking a chip can be a long process.
Since burn in and you have to make sure its stable and up the core if its necessary..

I couldnt find anything under user define section for modification of the FSB :( i have a via apollo pro 133a
Give us your bios menu.
Like the menu entirely, chipset and etc.
IT should be where you select the speed itself.
Like 100x5 or something like mine..

what brand of mobo is it the Via Apollo Pro 133A is only the chipset, if its and ASUS P3V4X then youre in luck, i also believe the Gigabyte and Abit version of the Pro133A are pretty good, tell us waht it says on the mobo....
