Low vista 3dmark scores

Every time i switch divers i run 3dmark to see if it is stable.
Since i put vista 32 on in Dec scores are low in 3dmark 06 and 03.
Stock sli 16200 tweaked 16400@ 4100 after crashing at a higher oc i tried xpp.
With xpp@ 3800 my scores go back to normal 17716 3DMark06.
Why does vista drop scores by 1000 pts
Does dx9c raise score or is it vista.
In vista performance test i get 5.9 except for h.d. which is 5.4.

Have you turned off Aero and the sidebar and as much eyecandy and services as you can?
With everything shut down I only see about 150 point difference in XP 32 and Vista 64.

Turn all vista features off, close sidebar etc. Also, make sure the 3dmark06 settings are all at default and not at a higher resolution or something.

Have no anti virus or firewall defrag drive daily.
Bare min pc except intel pro nic 2hd no extra softwere.

No printer or sound card onboard nic firewire floopy lpt serial port shut off in bios

After rechecking low scores they seem to be related to sp1 install.
Had average 17600 pts before sp1
Now averave 16200 =16400 after sp1 stanange.
I also put on dx9c for some reason before sp1
I will try a dx reinstall

I get 18500 with my pc (Q9450 @ 3.6ghz , 2 8800gts 512mb, 8gb Ram, 150gb WD raptor) on vista ultimate 64 bit with or without sp1, so I am not sure why yours dropped...

No mater what drivers or cpu or fsb speed 3800 to 4150 always get 16200 16250 in vista strange.
Go to xpp same setting points go from 17600 to 18400.
Vista goes up 20 to 30 xp goes up 800
put dx9c reinstalled system drivers no difference.
I know sli needs a few extra ms drivers but vista wont upgrade drivers twice.
May try deleating 2 sli updates then reinstalling.
Oc sli shows up but doesnt do much in vista.
