No MMO or anything like that.
Doesn't need to be FPS
Singleplayer is preferred but a good online game would be cool too.
Nothing old-fashioned, COD1 was kind of fun but wasn't really in to it.
NO SCARY ****. Can not play Doom 3, Resident Evil, hell even HL2 freaked me out here and there.
I liked R6 Vegas but it was murder on my video card and am worried that 2 will be worse. =\
Certainly open to suggestions here, don't really know what's out.
Oh yeah Hitman series was kinda fun and got fun with cheats and stuff too. :)

Try a month of Gametap.. There's a ton of games, and quite a few good recent single player ones. I'm having fun with Rogue Trooper on there right now..

From what you described, I'd suggest the Splinter Cell series. The first two games are great, the 3rd one didn't really hold my interest and was rather forgettable, and I've never played the 4th one, but give them a try. You should be able to find them relatively cheap used at like, Gamestop or something.

Team Fortress 2 is a great FPS. Multiplayer only.
If you like RTS then I suggest Dawn of War: Soulstorm.

Oh wow forgot about those. I played R6 Vegas and my friend had a bunch of these other, more tactile ones for 360, looked REALLY cool.
I bought Hitman Blood Money, needed an extra file. 1.4GB @ 60KBPS :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Could not agree more, I loved that game.
I'm like the thread starter, I get scared but games easily .. but the worst bit is.. i really really like playing them. Maybe try Silent Hill 2? :p

Splinter Cell were great cept for Double Agent.
Chaos Theory Coop with a buddy is the most underrated fun ever.

I can DL both through Ubi. Frankly I don't even really know what Steam is/does.
Were the Ghost Recon games good? They have a LOT of them.
Liked the original Tomb Raider for PS1 a lot, will look in to those.

So now I'm redownloading the game again and I'm sure Eidos is going to have a heart attack and I'll have to call support to make sure I'm not a cyb0r ahxorz and then I *know* I'm downloading those 2 files again since they left too.
It's like game developers took five years to develop the most logical solution to gaming(downloads) possible, and hired 12 Monkeys(from the past on meds) to implement everything.
Seriously want to drive my car through Eidos HQ right now.

Just tried, punched in my keycode at the security booth, it said "UNKNOWN ERROR. GATE CLOSING."
can't go wrong with psychonauts, 3rd person action platformer with amazing art style and a sense of humor to boot, one of the rare gems of gaming alot of people missed out on when it was released.
Psychonaughts is one of the most fun and original games I've ever played. I would recommend it in a heart beat!
