First, I'm sorry if this has already been addressed - I looked for an existing thread, and couldn't find it.

I just lost 65 frames of work by booting my box. What the heck?? Has anyone else had this problem? This happened once before, too. I don't remember how many frames I lost but it was quite a few.

Anyone?

I remember having this problem. I believe it had something to do with a version or a core. What version are you running? I think your best bet is dumping the program and associated files you have now and downloading the 2.15 version and starting fresh. If your in the middle of another wu you could always wait for a better time. You'll probably here from more experienced members by then too.

It can happen if the file is corrupted while the client shuts down. It may have been writing the info when you rebooted. This just happened to me. Lost 78/100 about an hour ago. :(

It doesn't happen all of the time. This problem was more serious with earlier versions of the client. It seems to be much better now although some work is still lost.

It is a good idea to shut down, as in "quit" the folding client before you attempt an overclock, or do anything else that might crash your comp. Even if I am only going to reboot. I always do this, and it seems to help with the lost wu problem.

I guess I've been lucky Ploaf. Then, I haven't had to hard boot any of my machines lately either.

I'm running 2.15, and I did "QUIT" fah before I booted.

Just bad luck, I guess.

Thanks for all the replies.

That's about it. Flounder's(who is also looking good with them blue stars :)) right about quitting first as it seems to help keep the problem to a minimum, but even then I still get the privilege of starting over at times.:( Just glad it doesn't happen as often as it used to. :)

Be real careful of automatic updates like windows update. They ask if it's ok to proceed with an update and then suddenly you're in a reboot corner. I got caught in that trap several times before upgrading to 2.15. I've shutdown all three machines at one time or other every day this week and never lost one. Guess I've been lucky. Before 2.15 (2.12) I lost WU's all the time. Fold On my brothers.:)

I'm using the graphical client and my "Finished WUs:" count isn't counting up when it should (it shows 3 but it ran through 5). I'm not rebooting or anything and they're getting completed in time. Am I losing entire WUs here?
