The development behind the popular Interstate 1982 Mod, Tarmac Studios has some very exciting news for Battlefield Mod fans.

On the 30th of May at 8pm CEST, Tarmac Studios would like to invite you to our open beta test hosted by us with our modification, Interstate Nitro. It is a total conversion mod using the Battlefield 2 engine that have been in development for some time.

The BETA can be downloaded via HTTP or Torrent. The file is roughly 260MB. Feedback is appreciated!

Yeah, it's stil a WIP. I've made quite a bit of progress from the beta stage already. Yes, the cars will get reskinned. We just needs more skinners to spread the workload around.

Yeah, I still think I76 is the best game of all time. Hope to see you when the servers are up! Just to let you know too, we just added AI into the game and it's kicking ass. Expect alot of additional content and fixes in the next build. :beer:

Pardon my ignorance, but what kind of game is this? Doesn't quite look like racing, is it car combat or something?

Yes, it is a car combat mod, but we also have racing as well. Deathracing will be a new mode coming soon(hopefully) so we'll have all the bases covered.
But the racing and combat are both fun and will be more so when we get the patch out! Also, we need skinners! If anyone knows how to skin, please PM me. :beer:

Bots are much more deadly now, but are still a WIP(get stuck sometimes).
