I was trying to plug in a Kingmax PC150 512MB on my BE6-II but it only read 256MB when i booted. It used to detect 512MB when I pluged in 2 sticks of 256MB.

I just wonder if the BE6-II does not support 512MB/slot and the max for it is only 256MB/slot?

The Intel 440BX chipset, You have a BX board
Only supports SDRAM upto 256 MEGS.
Sorry but the 512 wont work on that board.

Silversinksam,
you are right. The 512MB ran good, but it just couldn't be recognized as 512MB and only be read as 256MB. What a waste!!!

never said the stick was bad,
just the BX chipset can only read 256Megs MAX per stick
So no 512 will ever work in a BX board, only 256 will be read (and used)

Maximum DIMM-size for the iBX is 256MB, but you can still put three of these in! I would, but my Alpha is blocking DIMM-0, I have two (exactly the same) 256MB sticks in and it works just fine.
