I used to have a modem opponent for playing WC2. Anyways i now have all the hw i can use and need to buy World of Warcraft, including the high speed internet connection. It has been years and I don't know what was the name of the original name of the name, or the names of any of the later games, or whethrer they came as add ons or what. I need to know what to buy, as far as the packages go, so I can begin to play the game again: World of Warcraft. I don't know if there is a single player component as there was with WC2, a primer, before heading into competition, and whether to start with an add=on of the game (name) or what.
pls. thanks

World of Warcraft is a MMORPG which can only be played online. Their is no single player component. Its a play to play system which costs you 14.95 every month. You can get a free 10-15 day Trial of the original game. Be warned that the very beginning is slow and they kinda hold your hand. When you get into the 20-30's its alot better. Their is also an expansion out which raises the cap from 60-70. Tons of new content and items as well. But one thing is WoW can solo the game to 70. I recommend you do instances as it prepares you for raids and other larger more difficult ones. :)

I think I can understand what you're getting at....
You will need to buy the original World of Warcraft game to start with. You'll get one free month of play included with it. Beyond the first month, you will either have to pay with a credit card, or buy the time cards at somewhere like BestBuy. Once you reach level 60, or if you just want to get it now, you will buy the Burning Crusade expansion to continue on to level 70. If you really wanted to, you could also pre-order the Wrath of the Lich King expansion that will be coming out in the future.

why "Burning Crusade expansion to continue on to level 70" and not before either $/ other wise? Oh wahtsis name sais "Their is also an expansion out which raises the cap from 60-70. " then "one thing is WoW can solo the game to 70. I recommend you do instances as it prepares you for raids and other larger more difficult ones."
thx
did I say i was cheap/stupid yet? part w/ the online time thingy.
You do realize that WOW is an MMO whereas WC2 is an RTS?
You can level from 1 - 70 solo without ever grouping if you want to. I guess that is considered single player.
why?
thx
What did you not understand that pefsaboy said?

Because you can only go to level 60 in the orginal WOW. You need the expansion pack to get to 70.

ok whether I buy the expansion pak later vs. now will not change 0-60 play at all? (later is not logical if there is packs, no?, wspecially if there is packs w/ time, ya; see where I'm going?)
Whats grouping?
