I recently bought a 9800GTX and am using it to play age of conan. It has been going very slow and apparently in talking on some forums people with worse cards (8800's) seem to be performing much better than me. I ran 3dmark06 and it seemed the only person with a close system to mine had much better 3dmarks with an 8800GT.

Overall i'm just wondering. How would i check to see if this card is running on my system the way it should be or as fast as it should be. I know the card isn't broken but what should i be troubleshooting to determine what is or could be wrong with the rest of my system.

Oh also my mobo only has 4 pin instead of 8pin connected, would that downgrade any power that might be needed by the mobo for the pci-e slot?
PS:

3dmark06: 9642

rest of pc in sig.

we are members of OCforums for a reason. :santa:

anyway, you'll want that cpu chugging along at atleast 3ghz to get the most out of your videocard. If you aren't big on OCing, then buying a E8400 should suffice.

i could, i f-ed up my bios last time when i did it. Uhm... how would i go about checking everything is working right though? Also does the 4 or 8 pin on my p5b not matter?

no lol does only using the 4 pin make a difference apart from using the 8 pin? Is there some extra benefit? Will it benefit my computer some way if i went and found a converter and stuck it in?
