I have been out of the loop for awhile...but I just started getting back into it...Sig Specs below...minus the Ballistix's...

I got all my parts Friday and couldnt wait so I bought a set of the OCZ PC6400 Special Op's locally...the last few days I have been messing around with them just to see what they could actually do...and if these can do 1000MHZ @4-4-4-14 (2.1V)...then the reapers shouldnt have any issues doing what you are wanting...

I am not sure either...bought them locally and with the way the heatspread is...kind of hard to see if they are single or double sided...

What I have been told is...there is a good chance these are possible the D9GMH chips...

When I get my new Ballistix's...I will compair them and see...

if those special ops are 2gb modules they arent gmh.they only make/made gmh/gkx in 1gb flavors unfortunately.i know micron makes 2gb modules but i cant remember what they are are off hand, hnl maybe?

These are the 2x1GB Special Ops...not the Special Ops Urban Elite

http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr2_pc2_6400_special_ops_edition

So there is a good chance they could be a set of the GMH's...no telling how long they had been sitting on the shops shelf...very few shops here carry anything for OCing...so I was very suprised to see them at a local shop and for the price I just couldnt refuse...plus it got my rig up and running a week earlier

the spec ops run powerchip according to roons ramlist
http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/
still powerchip ics are solid,as your finding out :)
thats why i was hoping the 2gb modules im getting were pc.

Good info...been out of the loop for a few years...feel like a newbie with everything that has changed...

Now the Ballistix's on the way are supposed to be D9GMH so at least I have something worthy to test against them now :)...

Good luck with your set...

i hate to be the bearer of bad news yet again but the newer ballistix are single sided and generally dont clock very well :( the sobs switched from doublesided d9gmh to single sided d9hnq(not positive they are hnq or if they are hnl).so hopefully you nabbed yours from someone in the classifieds?
this REALLY sucks hard being that i just found that one of my 1000s is erroring in memtest :bang head
my only option is to replace my badass ocers for single sided bs.on a more positive note i have seen people getting 1100 cas5 out of the singlesided modules.so ill be keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't worry my friend. I would never steer a fellow member in the wrong direction.

There is no such thing as "newer single-sided" Ballistix PC2-8000. They discontinued the PC2-8000 with the end of the D9GMH ICs. They did, however, continue to make single sided PC2-6400 and PC2-8500. I bought a pair of the same sticks that Glock ordered and they are in every way, shape and form D9GMH. They run up to 625mhz on my board and can also run up to 430mhz at 3-3-3-8.

Moral of the story, if you find PC2-8000 Ballistix or Tracer, it's 99% D9GMH. Only problem is, you won't find them anywhere. Which is why Glock and I bought all 4 sets that were available at the time.

believe me i know :( ive been tracking gmh/gkx for the last year and a half.btw they continued producing gmh modules well after they discontinued the 1000s.those unfortunately were the ones that started all of the early failure threads(inferior ics if you ask me).i agree tho the 1000s are the real deal, low failure rate, excellent ocs and killer timings(some of the best gmh ics crucial ran).
the reason im up the creek is crucial will have to replace my lovely 8000s with single sided 8500s :bang head which is just...wrong(sniff).

on a happier note im glad to hear you guys were able to find some 8000s!especially if you picked them up recently.they are about as rare as the anniversary 6400s.
