Ok guys, I've been out of the game a LONG time. The 940 FX in my sig was still close to a grand the last time I built a rig.

I have a fortron 500w bluemax PSU in my possession. That SHOULD run a modern CPU correct?

I'm getting a case with two PSU bays. If I'm not mistaken(and this is where my knowledge gets a bit hazy), my PSU is not setup to run modern SLI setups, so I was thinking a 3-400watt SLI read model might be an option as a second PSU.

I really don't want to spend a lot on a new 1000watt rig, but I will be running two LARGE water cooling loops, and eventually a nice SLI setup. Suggestions on this?

Don't bother going dual GPU.

Are you wanting to run the video cards off one PSU or are you going to run one off each PSU? If you run one off each PSU you could probably get by with the Antec Earthwatts 380.

If you want to run both cards off one PSU, Then to get a decent quality SLI PSU you will probably have to go to something like the Corsair HX520 to get both the power connectors for the cards.

I'd also recommend a Corsair HX series (520 or higher)

What connector are the cards using for power, is it a molex or a special connector?

I suppose if I had to, I could run one of the card and the mo-board on one PSU, the pumps and the other card off the second.

I'm trying to get away with as low of invesment on this ass possible. otherwise I may as well buy a big unit....
