hello,
i have recently been having delayed write fail problems. this only occurs when isntalling games. i reformatted windows in hope of it only being a windows problem, but then after reformat, still coudln't intslal games. the game would install half way, then the message would pop up.
i'm thinking it has something to do with saving large chunks of files. the computer has restarted itself a few times, so i changed all bios settings to default, but still hasn't solved anything. could the harddrive (internal one) have been damaged by overclcoking?

any ideas? :-/
thanks.

Hard drives are usually pretty resistant, so when they fail under normal use, there's generally nothing you could've done to save it.

As for a fix, your hard drive is failing, only way to fix it is to get a new one

bugger bugger bugger!
stupid seagate...
i've been looking at the WD 640GB. i change companies whenever something screws up.
could it be a windows problem? because this has only been happening ever since i changed to XP PRO SP2 from XP Home SP2.
i have also benchmarked the drive with HD Tune, and large drops in read and write times are seen.
