I told ya so. :)
Anyway. I am about to reach 2500 and should be getting my Duron back within the next week. It's currently in TN awaiting the box that it will travel home in. When that happens I'll have 5.2AMD here that I can donate to someone for some reason for some amount of time. It's not everything I have but the notebook doesn't put out too much and my 900 tbird is no longer under my command, but it should be folding under my name for the team. Please! Feel free to shoot down the idea or come up with something else. :) If it sucks I'd like to know. But if it's ok I wouldn't mind knowing that either ;)
I was thinking about a contest. Personally, I like contests because people like to win. My idea- I think we could use a little more information in the FAQ thread to prepare it for the final FAQ. It's been going slow. Also some of the information on the tricks page may not be up to snuff(my fault I admit). The idea is to donate all 5.2 GHz to fold in the name of the first person to come up with 5 personally written articles(screenshots are nice too) to be used for a FAQ and place them in the thread. I was planning to do it for 2 weeks to whoever completes the task first. I have made no provisions for second place. It hasn't started yet.
What do you think? Do you have any other contest ideas that we can work on?

Maybe a recruiting drive of some sorts, whoever recruits the most new active members or gets idle members to fold again within a given time period. Qualify it somehow, like recruited members have to fold actively for 14 or 21 days or something and idle members should be 0 in the 168 hour column. Just a thought.

I would help with second place prize, the two machines in my home, about 2.7G AMD for 7 days of pure folding exhilaration in their name.

I can do a guide on setting FAH up as a service in 2000 and Linux (the Linux I haven't tried yet, but I'll figure it out soon) and any other guides you want me to do.

Actually some Linux stuff would be really helpful as would be that article on setting it up as a service in 2k/NT/XP. :)
Have we had that here yet? I thought I saw something before about the service here, but could be getting confused with OCAU who had it up on their site. Anyway it's really useful.

S_Wilson- The second place prize sounds like a good one. That recruiting idea sounds like a good one too. I was hoping that someone had an idea along those lines. We have to be careful not to go around hounding people who joined before though. I could see that getting out of hand if a bunch of people each started PMing former active members. ;) but if you really know someone who might do it or someone who did it before then you could ask if they'd want to help again even for a limited time.

Actually we could get contests going one after another, but I can't sponsor them all ;)
anyone else?

OK Somebody set up us with 5 articles before anyone else for the FAQ thread and All My AMD Belong to You for 2 weeks. I don't know when the Duron will be back but I will compensate with an equivalent time somehow.
The Rules-
You must be the first to get 5 articles in the FAQ thread that are useful starting from now. They may be rewrites correcting past mistakes or clarifying issues that were only vaguely covered in the FAQ thread and Tricks page or they may be writings about issues that were totally ignored in either the FAQ or the Tricks page. A search through the forums could yield some topic ideas.
Here are some things (sfa ok touched on a couple of really good ones)
here goes.........

Setting up a Service in 2k/XP/NT or even Linux
Setting up the Client in Linux or using WINE to set up the windows client in Linux
Getting through a proxy (This one may be tough because of different proxies)
Come up with something on your own because I am good at forgetting things or we wouldn't be having this contest ;)
Fix something that has already been done, but may be lacking in some way

OK that's it for now.

I don't know if a second place prize will work for the faq contest. If you think it will let me know. Otherwise, I think I will work towards the recruiting drive contest and throw all 5.3G AMD at it for 7days, maybe 14.

My thoughts are to run the contest for 30 days. Recruited members will post to a specific thread, one for this purpose only, so the recruiter will get credit. The recruited members will need to fold for 14days minimum for contest credit. I will post some sort of leaderboard every day or two.

I'm not sure about idle members, don't want anybody complaining about harrassment. Maybe if you have a good relationship with an idle member, you can try.

I would appreciate feedback from anyone, and possibly cosponsor(s) who could donate other prize(s).
