Ive been playing gta4 constantly since i got me a ps3 this weekend and I gotta say I love this game. I went out yesterday and got some hdmi cables and it makes the game much more pleasant to watch too.

One thing I haven't played much though is the online. I tried a few games like team deathmatch and the mafia game, but every time I play theres only like 4 people playing. I really want to play with 16 players but i cant seem to get into a good server. whats the most popular game type that I can play with lots of people?

oh btw my mp name is csu_scorpion if anyone plays online a lot.

Team Deathmatch is pretty popular at least on XBL, Cops and Crooks always seems to be full. Also are you playing ranked or not ranked? Ranked seems to be more popular. Again my experiance is on XBL so I could be way off!

Rainless, Xero, Nerdlogic and I were in a game with 12 people and the slowdown, lag, pop-in and out were pretty bad. I don't know if I'd want to try it with 16 people. Granted, there was a bunch of pedestrians and tons of cops in there too but it slowed down to a slide show.

Wow... PS3?

I have been in plenty of 16 player games (mostly cops and crooks, those fill up suepr quick) and so far it has worked very well. The 360 still has some pop-in but thats even in single player. But usually no lag and never an FPS drop like that.

Yep, PS3.... I thought at first it was just me but everyone was experiencing it.

Ill def check out the cops and robbers tonite. How do i know if im in a ranked/unranked game?

i like how you can enter from the cell phone, but i wish there was a menu that listed all the servers/number of players/gametype like you see in bf2 err any online fps. I guess ill get used to it.

For the 360 version when you go into the multiplayer menu you can choose Player Match which is unraked, or Ranked Match. Maybe PS3 does not have that option I dont know.

played a few rounds of cops and robbers tonight, and i liked it a lot.
oh btw i decided to not start another gta4 thread, but i didnt see this posted anywhere else: ya i know he can sound annoying but i think most of his reviews are hilarious. This is the only place ive seen some criticism of this game though.

i do agree with some of the points he makes, but its not slowing me from playing lol. Even he says that after the review hes gonna play some more!
