Im looking to get 4gb or ram and im choosing between the 2 below. For some reason they r the same price. Is there any reason i should get the DDR2 800 over the DDR2 1000

it depends on the oc your looking at hitting.if you need 500fsb grab the 1000s if not the 800s will be fine.

No reason not to, no. Even if you do get to 500fsb, you could likely still tighten your RAM timings with little or no extra voltage since the frequency is at stock. My DDR2-800 set is running tighter timings than SPD, and I just gave it a notch of extra juice for good measure. I'm sure I could memtest them and be stable at stock volts, but I've never had one problem with it how they are and they don't get warm at all.

I assume you're talking about the PQs (blue heatspreader, 2x2GB)?
They also use the exact same chips on the 800s and 1000s as well. So no reason not to get the 1000s at the same price.

So what would make these better than the Micron from the Balistix's?

ive heard mixed reviews about the 2x2gb ddr2 800 ballistix.i think i would opt for guaranteed 1000s rather than hoping to get a set of 800s that will oc well.

if your talking about the 2x1gb ballistix kits.your actually better off going with stock pc2-8000 modules vs those now.they switched ics on them and as sad as it is to say, they dont oc very well.especially when you compare them to the doublesided d9gmh of old.

Is this one by chance using the exact same chips as the 2 mentioned in this Thread?
